Hang Out at CHOP TALK on International Women’s Day

Last year Portland was home to a terrific new festival, Roux, a multi-day event focused on women in food. The organizers behind Roux are teaming up with Slow Food Portland to bring us CHOP TALK, “a FREE panel discussion digging into women-owned farms and CSAs.” And it will happen on Sunday, March 8—International Women’s Day—at Real Good Food, 935 NE Couch Street. The discussion will take place from 4-5:30pm.

The featured farmers include Jennifer Rose Marie Serna from Wapato Island Farm, Michelle Week from x̌ast sq̓it (Good Rain Farm), Mary Colombo from Wild Roots Farm, and Nicki Passarella from Amica Farm. The panel will be moderated by Holly Hutchason, Executive Director of the Portland Area CSA Coalition.

After the free panel discussion there will be a party where you’ll have a chance to enjoy food and drink prepared by local female chefs. Roux is working with Real Good Food to provide a secret ingredient all the chefs are going to use in their dishes. There will also be wine from Landmass and other women wine producers. Food and wine are priced a la carte. A portion of the proceeds from the tasting party will support the Slow Food Portland Market Scouts program at the Lents International Farmers Market in the 2020 season. The party is from 6-9pm.

This should be a fun and informative afternoon and evening—don’t miss it!
