Red Sauce Pizza pie topped with pepperoni (behold the cupping) and ricotta; it’s fantastic.
Yesterday afternoon I opened up Instagram and saw the news: Red Sauce Pizza is moving! I never thought I’d see the day, since they are such a presence on that strip of 42nd Avenue. They’ll be moving into a space on NE Fremont and 47th Avenue, which can only be the location of the now-shuttered Anchor End (and before that, Thrive). Anchor End closed in early August 2019. The classic Herring Under a Fur Coat at Kachka, one of the delicious things I ate in the past couple of months.
Well, it’s been about two months since I last visited this little blog, and I sure didn’t mean to be absent for that long. Life took priority—estate work took a lot of my attention, but so did the emotional component of cancer recovery. I just didn’t have enough in me. Anyway, here are the five posts you read most often this past month; and thanks to Eater and Reddit for the traffic.

A new spot is opening up on NE Fremont in the old Thrive Sauce & Bowls space — Anchor End. While I’m sad to see that Thrive shuttered, I’m eager to give Anchor End’s food and drink a try.
One of my morning walks sometimes takes me up the Alameda Ridge, usually for a stop in at the NE Fremont location of Prince Coffee (I love their lattes and the aroma of fresh made stroopwafels). On a recent jaunt up the Ridge I noticed that Thrive had closed (I so enjoyed their healthy salads and bowls) and a “Eurocafé and bakery” named Anchor End is moving in.
