We have a Delta Carts Food Pod update: They had their soft open yesterday, Tuesday June 17!
Last week I went by to see the space for myself. At my visit, so much of it was complete—the patio, which takes up much of the space, a few carts in, seating, landscaping—such a change from where they started. Here are some photos I took and a little bit of additional details I learned while there.
Delta Carts Food Pod Update: Then and Now
First, here’s what they started with:

And here’s where we are in 2025.

The Fire Pit
Among the white and black color scheme the orange seating around the fire pit really pops visually. They built this fire pit themselves.

Landscaping
Aside from the concrete patio, there’s grass and other landscaping at the pod.

The Carts
When I was at the pod, three carts had already been parked: Getta Gyro, Indian Tadka, and Ta Bueno Ne. It is expected that the pod will be full by the time of their grand opening in early August.

Thanks to a press release (they wrote the copy below), here are the six food carts that have already leased space at the pod:
- Indian Tadka House: Indian curry dishes, biryani, and naan, including chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, vindaloo, and more.
- Korean Tiger: Korean cuisine including beef bulgogi, bibimbap, galbi, and kimbap.
- Ta Bueno Ne: Mayan food, including panuchos and salbutes, as well as burritos and street tacos.
- Getta Gyro: traditional Greek gyros, including lamb/beef, chicken, falafel, and vegetarian options, as well as Greek salads.
- PDX Philly Cheese Hub: Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, onion rings, and fries.
- M24 Sushi.
Additional three carts planned for the space include Bobablastic, Fatso’s Cheketos, and Faith Catering (soul food). There will also be a bar cart.
Bathrooms
Nice to see the presence of bathrooms in a building here at the Delta Carts. I think everyone can appreciate this rather than a porta-potty.

Parking
There is a good amount of parking: a lot dedicated to the pod and available parking by the now-closed Shari’s across the street. Also, the old Burrito House building across the street has been demolished, and that will become some parking, too.

Additional Details
As I mentioned earlier, they soft opened yesterday. They are looking at hours of operation to be 10:30am to midnight. These late hours will be great for folks at nearby PIR, which shuts down at 10pm.
My understanding is that in the past, folks still looking to socialize after a raceway event would head to the Burrito House for late night eats and drinks, but since that’s gone, Delta Carts will be a substantial option (Burger King is about the only other place to eat in the area).
There are also a lot of events happening this time of year, which is advantageous for the pod. Indy and NASCAR racing, as well as motorbike racing at PIR for the lovers of internal combustion engine sports; the Delta Park Pow Wow; various big sales and other gatherings at the Portland Expo Center; and Delta Park and the Owens Sports Complex.
Not to mention how this will be an option for nearby Prologis employees, those working at the Hayden Meadows Square mall, and a couple of nearby hotels.
As you can see from the comparative photos at the start of this article, the changes to this property are striking. As I was standing around taking photos I noticed how much regular traffic there is on Hayden Meadows Drive. Honestly, I hadn’t been up there before and had some misconceptions about the area, so it was a pretty great smackdown on my assumptions about it.
Wishing the Delta Carts Food Pod folks all the best as they establish a new amenity in the Delta Park section of Portland.

Great concept but sadly the homeless that have destroyed much of the surrounding areas of Delta Park as well as their drug deals and hangout at bottle drop will eventually become a problem especially sleeping or pitching tents and destroying the bathroom. Hope not but it’s prevalent down there. Good luck though
I have been told the Bottle Drop is moving out of Delta Park, which will change some things, I expect. While I was there, I saw security moving around, too. They have constructed the pod’s fencing in a way that also makes is harder to disassemble and break. I think if there are issues, the TMT Development folks, which own a lot of the property surrounding the pod and own the pod’s property, too, will figure out solutions that work in the best interest of the food cart pod, the vendors, and the patrons.
