Bridgetown is a nickname for Portland because of all the bridges that span the Willamette River – 12 in all (of those, one is dedicated to rail and one prohibits private cars and trucks).
Original Dream Pizza is a new pizzeria opening up in the old American Dream Pizza space on NE Glisan Street. Back in July 2024, American Dream Pizza on NE Glisan Street closed, and we’ve been wondering what is happening there. Now we know.
Via Chicago, known for its Chicago-style deep dish pizza, has been open on NE Alberta since 2013, and at the PSU Farmers Market since 2010. But soon, owners Tonya Mayhew and Kevin Reynolds will open a Via Chicago pizzeria to the old Cereus PDX space there on the corner of NE Prescott and 15th Avenue.
“The Italian Summer Kitchen,” a new cookbook by Cathy Whims, chef and owner of Nostrana, is released today. It’s her debut cookbook, and offers accessible recipes of beautiful and flavorful Italian fare, surrounded by colorful illustrations.
Flour Bloom, a cafe and plant shop, and also self-described community hub and event space, will close. They announced that their final day will be April 30, 2025.
New food menu at Leikam Brewing. They’ve partnered with Nourishment PDX, which provides locally-sourced, flavorful food. A little backstory: “The two first crossed paths nearly a decade ago as vendors at the Hollywood Farmers Market and are excited to reconnect. Ramona White, founder of Nourishment PDX, was a beloved presence at the market for 19 years, serving tens of thousands of her famous breakfast burritos to customers of all ages and Leikam sold its first beers publicly at the market weekly.”
