A new dumping shop is coming to Northwest Portland: Dodo Dumpling. Looks like it’s opening in the former Black Star Grill location, which has relocated to the Pearl District. This dumpling shop seems to focus on the health and nutrition that the dumplings offer, due to the quality of their ingredients, natural flavors, and balanced nutrition. Their Instagram bio states they are “too good to be true.”

Umi Organic Production Stopped After Shin Shin Foods Fire

Earlier this week there was a devastating fire at the Shin Shin Foods Building on 400 N Thompson Street, which took out Shin Shin Food’s operation—and that of Umi Organic, which has been in business for eight years. I suggested this was the case, and indeed it’s true—Umi Organic shared the news yesterday as to how they have been affected by the fire.

It’s that time of year—time to order your Iliamna Salmon Shares as part of their CSF (community supported fishery). I’ve talked about them before, comparing them to a CSA (community supported agriculture), as the concept is similar (buy a “share” in the farm/fisher). I’ve been an Iliamna share holder most years since 2010, and remain a huge fan of their excellent sockeye salmon filets.
