Small Bites: Cowboy’s Burgers, Beer, Dawnbringer, and More

Cowboy’s Burgers has opened in Gresham. Their first day open was Tuesday, October 6, and they have gotten a lot of positive reviews—one person remarked, “Nothing like it in the area.” They have a pretty big menu, too. Burgers, of course, but also sandwiches (e.g., gyro, Philly cheese steak, BLT), salads, appetizers, breakfast, tacos, burritos, and more. Small Bites: Apple Fest, Clarklewis, Cobra Dogs, and More

Apple Fest returns this weekend. This is another fruit-focused festival from Rubinette Produce Market inside Providore. On Sunday, October 11 from 10am to 3pm, head there to taste a variety of apples from Kiyokawa Family Orchards. And Chef Gregory Redfield from Bauman’s Cider will have an “apple inspired nibble from his kitchen.” Be sure to stop in the adjacent Wine Room to sip on some Bauman’s brews.

There’s also a chance to win a $300 gift card to Bauman’s. Nice. The event is free to attend. 2340 NE Sandy Blvd, Portland

Small Bites: Sip & Forage, Bistecca, and More in Portland

Sip & Forage grand opens on Saturday. This is a relatively new food cart pod on SW 5th Avenue between SW Hall and College, and the former location of a Wells Fargo Bank. They soft opened August 24 but are doing their grand opening celebration tomorrow from 4pm to 8pm. They have an Airstream cocktail bar and food carts, and will do a raffle, offer drink specials, and food samples. 1900 SW 5th Avenue, Portland

Small Bites: Dolly Parton Day, Apple Pie Week, and More

Today is Dolly Day. On Wednesday, September 23, City Council President Jamie Dunphy read the proclamation for Dolly Parton Day in Portland, which takes place today, September 25 (9/25, nine-to-five).
