This week I learned that Jolly Roger, a “long time Buckman den of fun and frolic” (thank you, Buckman Community Association) will be demolished. What’s coming in its place? Housing.

Dumpling Week 2022 – the Offerings

Last month I wrote up a post that Portland’s Dumpling Week is returning in 2022 and how restaurants could participate. I have been eagerly waiting to learn more about the participating spots—and they are finally here! I think this may be my favorite Dumpling Week I’ve seen, yet. Here are the participants and their offerings.

Remember: Dumpling Week is from Saturday, January 30 to Sunday, February 5, 2022. Each plate of dumplings is 12 bucks.

Dumpling Week Returns in 2022

One of my favorite Dumpling Week options, potato and cheese pierogis with onions and bacon from Delores (RIP) from 2019.

Portland has a number of “food weeks” that center around some of the most popular dishes that represent, for all intents and purposes, American comfort food: pizza, burgers, tacos, wings. Dumpling Week, from The Oregonian, usually starts the year off, and looking at the Bridgetown Bites archives, I’ve been happy to blog about it in 2019, 2020, and 2021 (which was a big takeout year). This year, Dumpling Week goes from Sunday, January 30 to Saturday, February 5, 2022.

Dumpling Week is Alive in 2021

Although we are still in the midst of a pandemic, The Oregonian’s Dumpling Week is well and alive, and it starts today. This year, not surprisingly, it’s all about takeout. The real bonus for this kind of setup is that you can order dumplings from a bunch of places and eat them at home, all together.
