Small Bites: Tastebud, Costa Rican Food, Radicchio, and More

Tastebud gets review-bombed. This week some folks took issue with statements Mark Doxtader, owner of Tastebud, posted on the pizzeria’s website. This led to articles posted about it on conservative outlets like Fox News, the New York Post and the Daily Mail (UK). That, in turn, inspired the practice of “review bombing” by some invested in protesting against statements like “Release the Trump/Epstein files.” and “The Holocaust was real.” GoodStuffNW has more details. Original Dream Pizza Has Reopened in Portland

Original Dream Pizza is open once again! They had to close their doors because of a fire last fall, and they were finally able to reopen earlier this month. This week I chatted with Amy Northrop, one of the pizzeria’s owners, to learn more.

Sometimes comes to Creston-Kenilworth. They’ll be offering coffee service inside Pan Con Queso, a pizzeria (or, pixxeria) in which its owners find inspiration in their Mexican and Pacific Islander heritage. Sometimes will use Passenger coffee beans and teas.

The Back Patio Is Open in Portland

After two and a half years of work, preparation, and wrangling with City of Portland’s various processes, The Back Patio in Cully is open. Located in a former cannabis shop on Cully Blvd, this little local spot offers snacks, wine, beer, and NA drinks in what they call a “shabby chic” dining room; as well as an arcade, food trucks, and yes—a back patio. I sat down with owners Mike and Jennifer Usselman to learn more.
