Estes is moving to Concordia. The’ve been in residency at Broder Nord since January 2025, and in January 2026 they’ll be moving into their own brick-and-mortar space. Their final day of service at Broder was Wednesday, December 31 and they hope to open at the new location in the second week of January.

Small Bites: Nelly’s Taqueria, Sausages, The Last Rodeo, and More

Nelly’s Taqueria gets hyped. I recently came across this video by WhyteFoxx Media on Nelly’s Taqueria, which is located inside Su Casa Supermercado on Stark and 162nd. The video features some of Portland hip-hop musicians asking for and enjoying the special Whyte Foxx Burrito, created by hip-hop artist Whyte Foxx. DJ94 Prynce, Indo Slim, Smurf Luchiano, and Swiggle Mandela all give it a thumbs up. Note: Nelly’s has a sizable number of vegan items on its menu. 16100 SE Stark Street, Portland

Get To Know Red Hen Bagelry in Portland

Back in February, my friend Judith raved about the bagels she got from Red Hen Bagelry. She said, “Best bagels I’ve had in a looooong time.” We both lived in NYC for a number of years and ate our share of bagels during that time. So I would say we’ve had solid experiences with NYC-style bagels enough to know what is good and what is not.

I reached out to Deirdre Tipley, owner at Red Hen Bagelry, to learn more about their bagels and their business, and we had a nice chat on a rainy morning at Sebastiano’s in Sellwood.
