Getting To Know Speedboat Coffee in Southeast Portland

Late last year, I heard that Speedboat Coffee was moving to a new location, so I stopped in on their opening day in December. They made me a really good cup of coffee and super tasty croissant breakfast sandwich—one of the best I’ve had lately. But what I didn’t know is that they make their own baklava! That definitely hooked me, so I wanted to learn more about them.

Pho DaLat turns ten. If you drive east on Sandy past 205 into Parkrose, no doubt you’ve seen this Vietnamese restaurant on the south side of NE Sandy Blvd and NE 103rd. They’ve been around for ten years, though I always had the impression it was longer than that. They are celebrating their 10th anniversary all throughout December by giving you 10% off your bill. 10232 NE Sandy Blvd, Portland

A lot of tidbits crossed my desk this week, so it’s time for another Small Bites. Let’s go!

Bar Asha closed temporarily. This successor to The Sudra posted on Instagram that they are taking time “to rethink what we do here.” I noticed comments are invisible, as they got some pretty intense reactions to the closing, some of which were pretty critical.
