We were very sorry to read the news of The Nordic Home closing. They are a sweet little shop tucked into a corner space in the 42nd Street Station shopping center on 42nd Avenue in the Hollywood District. It was a nice place to get Swedish candy and other tasty foods and products originating in the Nordic countries (Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, and Iceland).
The owner announced their closing on Facebook:
I’m closing the store, everything is 50% off until closing day, most likely around the 21st of January. I have enjoyed my time here, but as most small businesses find, internet is a major factor why having a small business is no longer viable, the other is all my fellow Scandinavians going home and bringing candy back with them (can’t blame you, but 4 months of no business isn’t viable), also a retail business is a venture for two or more.
While the shop is open, you can also come in for a complimentary Tarot read. She does plan to have a Christmas store next November/December, location TBD. We wish her well on the next part of her journey.
