Get Your Gobble Up Portland Tickets

Gobble Up, which features “the best craft food makers in the Pacific Northwest,” is Urban Craft Uprising’s premier food show, and takes place in Seattle and Portland. The Portland event is Saturday, November 13 from 10am to 5pm at Alder Block (100 SE Alder). I attended it back in 2019 and really enjoyed getting to know new-to-me vendors and revisiting ones I love (I’m looking at you, Eliot’s Nut Butters.)

Best of all, it’s free to attend—you can get your Eventbrite ticket here.

The organizers want this event to accessible to a big tent of folks—people like you and me (eaters) as well as folks in the food industry—restaurants, chefs, and the like. This is a chance to become familiar with those working in the local craft food industry—taste their products, chat with them, and learn more about their work. Basically, if you love food, Gobble Up is for you.

Things you’ll get to do the day of Gobble Up:

  • Sample and enjoy delicious foods through the day from the lineup of 100+ vendors, all in one place.
  • Enter a raffle, win free prizes donated by local restaurants and small businesses—Danewi Canting, Mother’s Restaurant, Freeland Spirits, Sasquatch Books, Tails & Trotters, Bergerac Bistro, and Old Salt Merchants.
  • Discover new products and ingredients.
  • Shop for the holidays.
  • Get to know this cool industrial event space, Alder Block.

And as it was in 2019, the first 100 people through the doors will receive one of their swag bags, which is filled with a selection of products from the vendors at Gobble Up. It was a nice perk and since I like to get to things on the early side, this was a good fit for me. I remember it was cold that morning, so standing in line was memorable. Thank goodness they had a hot coffee vendor nearby (hopefully they will again this year). Anyway, check the weather before you go out—this year’s location is closer to the water, too, so the chilly factor could increase. (Or climate change could throw us a summery zinger!)

And since we are still living in a pandemic, masks will be required, along with proof of vaccination (or a negative PCR COVID test).

Here are some photos I took from the 2019 Gobble Up.

I hope you can make it to what should be a great time of food tastes and discoveries of local purveyors. See you there!
