This past week I had the pleasure of appearing on episode #408 of the Right at the Fork podcast, in my capacity of editor and publisher of Bridgetown Bites. We chatted about a variety of things related to the Portland food scene, as well as writing and aspects of life on the east coast.
About Right at the Fork
Host Chris Angelus and Portland Food Adventures
Right at the Fork is one of Portland’s oldest podcasts focusing on the local food scene. Host Chris Angelus has been doing various things in Portland’s food world since about 2010; along with the podcast he also ran local food events. These events evolved over the years into trips to Europe with chefs and other locals, and for the past 10 years he has offered these opportunities under the name Portland Food Adventures.
This year they’ll be going to Portugal, Italy, and Spain (the Basque country and Andalusia).
The Podcast
On the podcast, Chris has interviewed many notable local people over the years, including Alexa Numkena-Anderson of Javelina and Inɨ́sha; Bill Oakley of the Steamed Hams Society; Carlo Lamagna of Magna Kusina; Earl Ninsom of Langbaan; Althea Grey Potter of the The Flavor Society; and many, many more. I am happy to be in such good company.
I’ve been listening to this podcast for many years and was thrilled to be asked to be a guest on it. We spent about an hour chatting, though the podcast itself is longer because of housekeeping and a few sponsor messages.
Episode #408
Here is the podcast in an embeddable format:
You can also listen to it on Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts, and other places you get your podcasts.
I tend to stay behind the scenes when it comes to media (photo, video, audio), so this is probably the first chance many of you have had to hear me speak on any topic.
Many thanks to Chris for having me on! I look forward to doing it again (and maybe do a little hosting at some point). I hope you get a chance to listen to it and enjoy.
