Welcome again to the first day of Portland Salad Week! With summer in full swing, there’s no shortage of fresh and flavorful salads across the Portland metro area. While most restaurant menus feature classic market greens, which are lovely this time of year, this week brings something extra special: well-crafted Salad Week restaurant specials by local restaurants.

We invite you to get out there and give these salads a try! Some of these salad creations may stay on local menus through the summer, but others are only here for a short time—so don’t miss your chance to taste them, and share your favorites with us!

Now, let’s roll out the red carpet for our Portland Salad Week specials from Monday, July 14 to Friday, July 18.

Bergerac: French Niçoise Salad

Bergerac is offering a classic take on a Niçoise Salad with marinated tuna, green beans, olives, tomatoes, pickled scapes, croutons, on a bed of romaine and dressed in a fragrant tarragon oil. The salad is available all week from 4:30pm to 8pm and costs $17.

Bethany’s Table: Scallop Salad

Bethany's Table: Scallop Salad

Bethany’s Table is serving up a Scallop Salad with greens, avocado, tomato, red onions, bacon, cilantro, lime vinaigrette, and a choice of three or five scallops. It’s available on Monday to Saturday from 5pm to 9pm and costs anywhere from $23 to $30, depending on how many scallops you choose.

Crisp Salads: The Very Berry Salad

Crisp is offering a lovely seasonal berry salad, which is also vegetarian and gluten free. It features spinach, arugula, blueberries, cucumber, feta, hazelnuts, pickled onions, and marionberry dressing. The salad can also be made vegan by omitting the feta cheese. Available through the month of July at a cost of $11.99.

Dove Vivi: Cherry Salad

This is another bright seasonal salad full of fresh local ingredients such as cherries, toasted hazelnuts, and goat cheese that sits on a bed of mixed greens and is tossed in a cherry vinaigrette. It can also be made vegan by omitting the cheese. The cherry salad will be available all week between July 14 to 18 at a cost of $15.

This popular Elephants Deli salad plays a starring role during Salad Week with its fresh, local and fruity ingredients such as apples, grapes, crunchy hazelnuts, crumbly blue cheese on a bed of mixed greens, and dressed with a house-made raspberry vinaigrette. This longtime guest favorite will be available in all seven Elephants Deli locations and costs $13.95.

Fresh Love: Summer Picnic Salad

Summers are perfect for picnics, so why not try this texture-forward summer picnic salad from Fresh Love. You’ll find many tasty ingredients in this salad such as mustardy potato salad, sour cream and dill cucumbers, greens, aged Gouda cheese, pickled red onions, jalapeno and garlic stuffed olives, a hard boiled egg, and crunchy Hot Mama Salsa chips, which are made locally. The salad is available through the end of July and costs $14.

Like its name suggests, this salad is superlative worthy with its gorgeous appearance and taste! Boasting ingredients such as avocado, aged gouda, baby lettuce, apple relish, and a bright rhubarb vinaigrette, it won’t weigh you down in summer. This salad is available during all service hours Monday to Thursday from 5pm to 9pm, Friday to Saturday from 4pm to 10pm, and Sunday from 4pm to 9pm at a cost of $21.

Garden Monsters: Colossal Cobb Salad

Think of this as a turned up version of the Cobb, with many fresh ingredients that are bursting with flavor. This salad contains romaine lettuce, Roma tomatoes, bleu cheese crumbles, a free-range chopped egg, croutons, and avocado ranch dressing. You can add a protein of your choice and also ask for it “buffalo style” for some added heat. This salad is available year-round, and costs $11.50 for a half portion or $16 for a whole.

Gin Thai Brasserie: Thai Spicy Meatball Salad

While this dish is non-traditional as far as salads go, that’s exactly what makes it so appealing! Spice lovers will love its bright flavors and many textures that come from the tender chicken meatballs, crunchy vegetables, crushed peanuts, delicate glass noodles, which are dressed with Gin Thai’s housemade chili lime sauce. This salad is available during regular operating hours of Tuesday to Friday from 11am to 9pm, and Saturday to Sunday from noon to 9pm and costs $12.50.

This super hearty salad will scratch your salad itch and then some. Feast your eyes on this Pittsburgh-inspired salad beauty that boasts bold ingredients such as pickled onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, sharp cheddar cheese, topped with waffle fries, grilled steak, a side of deviled eggs, then topped with creamy ranch dressing. Available July 15 to 18 from noon to 9pm at a cost of $19.

This spinach quinoa salad is packed with fresh, simple ingredients such as red onions, English cucumber, tart pickled green beans, and Roma tomatoes, served with housemade avocado lime dressing. Add some protein to it such as chicken or housemade Burmese tofu for an extra $3. The salad is served during all hours of operation from Monday, 11am to 3pm, Wednesday to Saturday from 11am to 8pm, and Sunday from 11am to 7pm at a cost of $11.

You can also expect an addition of local peaches when they’re in season later this summer. This salad is available for the rest of July, and maybe longer, at a cost of $16.

A gorgeous medley of colorful ingredients, Tropicale’s salad includes quinoa, citrus marinated sweet potato, radish, avocado, and mango salsa served on a bed of cabbage, kale, and arugula with a preserved lemon vinaigrette. Available Tuesday to Sunday from noon to 9 pm at a cost of $12.
