Bridgetown is a nickname for Portland because of all the bridges that span the Willamette River – 12 in all (of those, one is dedicated to rail and one prohibits private cars and trucks).
I saw the news about the arrival of the new olive oil from Sebastiano’s—the 2025 vintage—and I got really excited. Then I got an email from Dan, one of the owners, inviting me to come by and taste this new olive oil. I was more than happy to do so, and here is what I learned.

The Fifth Annual Tomato Fest is almost here!
Tomato Fest, which has been produced by the folks at Wellspent Market since 2021, is now in its fifth year—and in a different location than the inaugural fest. As we humans love our anniversaries and birthdays that end in a “5” or a “0,” I’m happy to tell you about this year’s celebration and appreciation of my favorite nightshade.

Back in 2019, Henry’s Tavern in the Pearl District closed its doors forever. Earlier this spring it became clear that there were plans to alter the space, with a new tenant to move in when the time was right. According to city documents, that tenant is called Hearth & Vine.
