I believe I first ran across the name The Nightwood Society randomly, but was truly introduced to them in a post by local blogger Pech on her blog, Pechluck’s Food Adventures. It’s a pretty exciting project—you could think of them as an “experience shop”—food and drink folks working with artists and creatives to “produce extraordinary experiences around food and wine” in a space on NE Broadway (former location of Chesa). Support SOLO / Portland Piano International and You Could Eat Well

Now that we’re in the middle of the season of giving, I wanted to point you to one ask that is particularly relevant to those of us who like live music and eating delicious food. This is a collaboration between SOLO / Portland Piano International and three of Portland’s great chefs: Greg Higgins (Higgins Restaurant and Bar), Vitaly Paley (Headwaters), and David Machado (Nel Centro). It involves supporting the arts and a chance to have an amazing meal.

5. Portland Area CSA Coalition is Hiring

Over the weekend I got an email from the Portland Area CSA Coalition (PACSAC), a local 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to to promoting Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) in the Portland area, about a job opening in their organization. The position they are hiring for is Program Director (part time) and it pays $14.75 – $16.75 per hour, plus paid time off; schedule is flexible within the 20 hours per week the job demands.
