I heard about the Portland Coffee Festival some months ago, but today, on International Coffee Day, it seems apt to tell you about it. And since it is International Coffee Day today (also, National Coffee Day was September 29), I thought I’d also highlight in a purely personal way, some of my favorite spots to get coffee around Portland.

Small Bites: Cannoli, The Richmond Bar, The Deck, and More

Sunday is for cannoli at Cartopia. Over at the Cartopia food pod Holy Shannoli is doing a cannoli pop-up on Sunday from noon to 8pm. You can see their menu here—much more elaborate than the traditional cannoli decorated with chocolate chips, nuts, or candied citrus peel. 1207 SE Hawthorne Blvd, Portland

Rosenstadt Taproom Is Open in Northeast Portland

Rosenstadt Taproom is open!

This week I was contacted by Nick Greiner, co-founder of Rosenstadt Brewery, with some good news: “After ten years in business as wholesale only to restaurants and retailers … we’ve opened a taproom in Portland.” It looks like they are occupying the former Culmination Brewing space.
