Feli Will Open in Northwest Portland’s Slabtown Neighborhood

The folks behind Urdaneta, Javier and Jael Canteras, are opening a second restaurant called Feli in a new space in Northwest Portland’s Slabtown neighborhood. A bit larger than Urdaneta, which celebrated 10 years in business last month, Feli will offer a cozy and upbeat atmosphere in which to enjoy food from the Andalusian region of southern Spain, as well as a full bar.

They look to open in September 2026. I had a really enjoyable conversation with Javier, and here are some of the things we talked about.

Small Bites: Yin Yang Burger Opens, Golden Hour, and More

Yin Yang Burger officially opens today. This is a new burger truck at CORE that’s been in a little bit of a soft mode so far. “At Yin Yang Burger, we bring together Asian-inspired ingredients while still having a take on some of the classics. It’s all about balance in every bite!” Nice.

Moloko Celebrates 20 Years of Cocktails Among the Coral in Portland

I recently learned that cocktail lounge Moloko in North Portland is celebrating 20 years in business this month—a notable milestone. They’ll recognize these 20 years at their space on North Mississippi Avenue with an anniversary party on the evening of Sunday, August 9, 2026.

Marée Will Open in the Former Dame Space in Portland

The time is here: Marée opens its doors to the public on Friday, July 31. This is a restaurant from Garrett McAleese—you may know him from Southeast Portland’s Fantino and as the son of the Kells Irish Pub founders Lucy and Gerard McAleese. They are opening Marée in the old Dame space—a place with a lot of history, memories, and meaning.
