It’s very satisfying to publish here on Bridgetown Bites that the long-awaited Portland Trung Nguyên Legend cafe is finally opening. They will soft open this weekend there on SE Powell Blvd just a little bit east of SE 82nd Avenue. Here is our previous coverage. A while back I saw that something called “Mi Familia Cafe” was going to open in what I knew to be Que Pasa Cantina. I set it aside because it did not make sense to me at the time. Fast forward to June and I was delighted to hear from the people behind Mi Familia Cafe—who did indeed open in the Que Pasa Cantina space!

Peacock is the name of a new dedicated queer bar in the old Crush Bar space. They hope to open in July 2025, but as of mid-July, it’s looking more like mid-August, according to my sources. I spoke to Aaron Grimmer, one of the persons behind the project, and here is what I learned from him.

Capes and Crepes, a new board game cafe, will open in the old Green Zebra space on SE Division. Karim Soliman and Chelsea Hughes are the people behind the project and I was able to chat with them recently about what’s to come at Capes and Crepes.

Good news: 3 Doors Down is returning! And along with the re-opening is the original owner, Dave Marth. He is looking at reviving the restaurant in June in their longtime location just north of—and three doors down off of—SE Hawthorne Blvd.
