Earlier this summer I chatted with Valdan Vlaski, current co-owner of Two Brothers Rakia Bar & Grill (Fun fact: He is one of the “two brothers”). Update 6/23/26: Two Brothers is no longer for sale. The owner’s son emailed me to tell me he’s taking over the business. The article below reflects a point in time when the business was for sale.
A reader emailed me with the news that Portland’s excellent Balkan restaurant, Two Brothers Rakia Bar + Grill, is for sale. Color me surprised—I had no idea this was in the works until then. This could be a blow to the diversity—and deliciousness—of the Portland food scene. But the reason why they are selling is understandable.

Thanks to Reddit, I was made aware of this video that in a very creative way announces the Portland Trailblazers 2024-25 schedule. I do not really follow basketball (I’m more of a baseball person, ngl), so I probably wouldn’t have paid much attention to this if is hadn’t been for its intersection with what this site is all about: Portland food and restaurants.
