This Saturday is the penultimate market day of the Rocky Butte Farmers Market, located right on the Rocky Butte itself. It’s been so satisfying to see this market grow and establish itself as a vibrant community space, providing access to all sorts of high-quality local foods and products convenient to the neighborhoods of Madison South, Roseway and Sumner neighborhoods.

I spent time at the last market and really enjoyed it. There are some terrific vendors (see the full list here) and there will be live music from Jeff Chilton. Personally, I’m looking forward to picking up another pumpkin bread from Bishop & Sons—also, did you know they sell sweet potato ice cream?—and bottle of cafe de olla from Revolucion Coffee House. There may also be peaches again from the Beech Street Community Garden, too, which are definitely worth buying—and my pepper plants I purchased from them are doing great! I like making a simple Gai Pad Krapow with them. I’m also eager to spend time with the vendors I am less familiar with.
So come on by the Rocky Butte Farmers Market on the Mannahouse parking lot from 9am to 1pm this Saturday. Parking is super easy, too. And you’ll be supporting a farmers market that is doing great things in the community. See you there!
