I wanted to follow up on a couple of posts from last year regarding the Bing Mi Dumpling & Noodle Bar and Tokyo Sando. Bing Mi, known for their jianbings for years, shared the news of their new dumpling and noodle bar last October. Tokyo Sando had to go back to Japan for a little while and was unsure if they’d open again for “Season 3” in 2022. The good news is that both are happening and are almost ready for you!
Bing Mi Dumpling & Noodle Bar
Bing Mi Dumpling & Noodle Bar—this business is in a brick & mortar instead of a food cart, like the original Bing Mi is—has actually been in soft opening mode for a few weeks, but their grand opening is Tuesday, February 1—just in time for Lunar New Year. They’ll have the regular lunch and dinner menu along with some New Year specials. Here’s that menu:

On Lunar New Year, look for dumpling, noodles, fried rice, and appetizer specials.
Tokyo Sando
The folks behind Tokyo Sando were still unsure even around the new year as to the opening dates of the truck. But the good news is that “Season 3” is a go—Wednesday, February 2. It will be good to have their wonderful sandwiches back that come with a whole philosophy:
“We’re not just making sandwiches
We’re sharing our Japan
We’ll take you to Tokyo”
Truck hours are Monday 11:30am to 3:00pm, Wednesday to Sunday 11:30am to 3:30pm. Closed 0n Tuesday. You can see their full line of sandos on the Tokyo Sando website.
Both of these places—Bing Mi Dumpling & Noodle Bar and Tokyo Sando—being open is good news for Portlanders who want straight up delicious food in an unfussy format. Definitely check them out if you haven’t already.
