New Spring + Summer Menu at Cloud Pine Tea + Culture

I love it when restaurants change their menu with the seasons, so I was happy to see that Cloud Pine Tea + Culture has their newest menus out—today! Lots of delicious things—take a look at the menus below.

Food

A solid set of items are on the dim sum side of the menu, from dumplings to rice dishes. I’m glad to see their excellent pork and vegetables dumpling has remained because the are really delicious. Returning to the menu are the vegan Emerald Delight dumplings that are also very good. Newcomers include some soup dumplings, though I wonder what is inside them (pork? crab? pork and crab? something else?). Eating XLB is a lot of fun and I’m glad to see them on the menu.

Other savory things I’d like to try are the Sticky Rice Purse (GF) and the BBQ Pork & Rice. I’m also intrigued by the tofu and fermented lemons combination in the Tofu Paradise (GF, vegan). On the sweet side of things, the egg tarts and black sesame rice balls return, but as we get into the warmer season, that mango and coconut jelly sounds particularly refreshing (GF, vegan). Teas

There are so many teas I want to try on these menus. As a longtime fan of sour plum, that Royal Sour Plum Tonic has my number—smoked black plum, hawthorn, Chinese licorice, raw black sugar. What a combination! I could see really enjoying it chilled.

The chai and matcha latte—stalwarts in the area’s cafes—are no doubt elevated here at Cloud Pine with particularly high-quality ingredients. I’d say that these are going to be really accessible to those looking for something comfortingly familiar. That said, the flavors Emily has decided to use in these drinks look so tasty. Honestly, for me, it would be hard to choose.

If you’re looking to get to know Chinese tea better, this is the place to be. I’m no expert, but check out the menu below and see what looks good to you. Emily and/or her staff will also be on hand to help guide you to something you’d like. I like that they serve snacks with the tea. (Click menus to enlarge.)

Remember, you can also buy loose leaf tea at Cloud Pine. They also have some music events planned, which you can see on their website. I would not be surprised to see more performances added to the list.

Milwaukie has a real gem with Cloud Pine Tea + Culture. I look forward to checking out the new menu soon.
