New Good Coffee Location Opening in the Pearl District

A Bridgetown Bites tipster reminded me that Good Coffee is opening a new location in Portland, in the Pearl District’s Brewery Blocks in NW Portland, just around the corner from Powell’s Books. This was previously home to a Peets Coffee, which from what I can tell, closed about a year ago.

On the Good Coffee website and also over on their Instagram, there is evidence of this new location. About a month ago they posted, “Friends – we are thrilled to be looking to meet + add a few new team members leading into the opening of a coffee bar in Portland’s Pearl District (NW 11th and Couch) in early 2024. We couldn’t be more excited.”

Good Coffee prides itself on delivering an elevated sense of hospitality, with a mission “to create delight for people.” Their staff is devoted to creating meaningful experiences for each of their customers through the vehicle of high-quality coffee drinks and menus that change with the seasons (their seasonal coffee drinks always sound interesting).

On the topic of being more than just a place that serves lattes and cappuccinos, they sent out this message last week:

“2024 will be another year of growth of Good Coffee. More important than roasting more coffee or opening new cafe, we hope this year brings long lasting lessons. We hope as a team of leaders we get better at leading towards both excellence and gratitude. We hope as a group of baristas and coffee roasters we foster the joy of giving and receiving hospitality. We hope we find more ways to get to know and serve the communities we show up to each day.”

And while the space was previously a coffee shop, they did some work inside, particularly having to do upgrading the restroom (demoed walls, new flooring and finishes, etc). A shiny new restroom is something anyone can get behind.

As mentioned above, the plan is to open this Pearl District cafe in “early 2024.” Looking forward to checking it out when it opens.
