Restaurant, bar, cafe, and food truck openings is the subject some of the most read Portland food news on Bridgetown Bites.
Last week I attended a media preview for the new Bar Sprezzatura Portland, which opened officially to the public for dinner last Friday, October 16 (lunch service will arrive later this month). It was an experience full of surprises, good company, delicious food and drink, and great conversation among colleagues. I could do this all in an Instagram post, but I feel freer here on a creative level, so—here we go!

A new food cart pod called Glisan Station is currently in development with plans to open in the Wilkes East neighborhood in far west Gresham (bordering on Northeast Portland). It’s in the early stages right now, and the hope is for it to open by the end of the year. I spoke with Abera Abu, who is developing the pod, and here is what I’ve learned.

There’s been a good amount of chitter chatter regarding the old Take Two/Toyshop Ramen space on NE Killingsworth, and through a series of tips plus a liquor license application, we’ve learned that the new business will be called Foxchase Tavern.

Sip & Forage grand opens on Saturday. This is a relatively new food cart pod on SW 5th Avenue between SW Hall and College, and the former location of a Wells Fargo Bank. They soft opened August 24 but are doing their grand opening celebration tomorrow from 4pm to 8pm. They have an Airstream cocktail bar and food carts, and will do a raffle, offer drink specials, and food samples. 1900 SW 5th Avenue, Portland

Over the summer I learned about a new spot called Mossback Tavern that will open in what was most recently The Dullahan Pizza Pub on SE Gladstone just west of SE César E. Chávez Blvd (soon to become Campesinos Blvd). Industry veterans Alex Gesler and Shaw Flick are behind the project, and will bring pizza and cocktails to the neighborhood at this location.
