Looks like the building in the Cully neighborhood that was home to Stanich’s for many years will become something new. A new watering hole, currently called The Mule Bar, is looking to open up at 4915 NE Fremont.

Not to be confused with “Lombardi’s” (trademarked as America’s First Pizzeria®) from NYC, Lombardo’s Pizzeria will be opening in the University Park neighborhood, offering up New Jersey-style pizzas and other Italian-American cuisine.

As I was driving home from a couple of morning errands, I noticed some “coming soon” signage on the building on the northeast corner of Fremont and NE 15th. A new Vietnamese restaurant, Pho Bar 405 is going to open up in that space that was previously occupied by Holy Goat Social Club.

As I was doing some research, I was very happy to come across the news that the folks from Sea Breeze Farm, originally from Vashon Island and now operating at NeverStill Ranch near Birkenfeld, Ore, have established themselves full time in NW Portland as Coq Au Vin. I’m really intrigued about their arrival and future offerings here in Portland.

I saw over on Instagram that Denizens Cafe, a new restaurant/eatery from the folks behind Rocky Butte Coffee Roasters, will launch their soft opening tomorrow, Thursday June 1. The cafe is going in where the OG Ben & Esther’s bagel shop was in Roseway.
