There’s a new cafe in Rose City Park: Milki Ethiopian Cafe, which was, until quite recently, the old Yigebe Coffee location on NE Sandy Blvd (also formerly Sandino Brother’s Coffee). They are offering coffee, some other drinks, pastries, and will have Ethiopian food, too.

A new Thai restaurant is opening on SE Belmont Street called Bangkok Belly. They’re setting up shop in what was most recently the home to Daily Fuel (they closed this past summer), but I remember it more as the location of Suzette, whose crepes I still miss.
I spoke with Kat Thirakomen, who owns Bangkok Belly with her husband David Fiske, about their plans for the restaurant. Here is what I learned.

The other day I got news of the opening of a new cart in the Cartopia food cart pod called Burger Ritual. I was intrigued by the people behind the business, and was really taken by their branding, in part as someone who spent time studying Medieval music.
