Portland Pride Festival and Parade are this weekend. The Pride Waterfront Festival is Saturday, June 18 from noon to 8pm and Sunday, July 19 from 11:30am to 6pm. There’s a $10 suggested donation to enter, but nobody will be turned away for lack of funds. And there will be food and drink vendors at the Pride Festival—you can see who and what to expect on this map.

Rhinestone Celebrates One Year In Portland Tonight With a Pop-Up (Just Like Old Times)

As you probably know, Rhinestone opened a bar last October in Southeast Portland (in the old Houston Blacklight space), but they started their life as a pop-up. So, why not celebrate a year of the concept … with another pop-up‽ Tonight’s the party and you are invited to stop by to help them celebrate right there were it all started—at Too Soon.

Rhinestone Brunch Launches This Month in Portland

This past weekend I was invited to stop in at Rhinestone to check out their upcoming brunch service at their new-ish brick and mortar. It was a chance to taste a variety of dishes and offer feedback before they opened it to the broader public. My friend Annie and I tried a handful of things and we enjoyed them quite a bit.

Small Bites: Paradox Cafe, Field Day, Rhinestone, and More

Paradox Cafe has closed. After over 30 years in business, Paradox Cafe and its plant-based menu has closed at their longtime spot on SE Belmont and 34th Avenue. They posted on both their website and social media:

“Like so many other food service businesses, we can no long sustain operations and have served the final plate. So many contributing factors, that have been intensifying since COVID, have made this a necessary decision….” You can read more here. Very sorry to see them go. 3439 SE Belmont Street, Portland
