According to paperwork filed with ORSOS, along with Portland city permits filed, it appears that a Trung Nguyên Legend Cafe is planning to open on SE Powell Blvd and SE 84th Avenue. Trung Nguyên is a major name in Vietnamese coffee, and along with their manufacturing and retail efforts, their cafes are some of the most popular in Vietnam. “Trung Nguyen Legend” is the company’s “premium brand in coffee.”

A new bakery, focusing on the world of oatmeal cookies, will open tomorrow, June 7 on SE Belmont and 33rd. Nate’s Oatmeal Cookies will offer a number of variations on this American staple of a baked good—and is a kind of “pandemic success story,” if you will.

Chop Chop Food Carts Is Coming to Outer SE Portland

While doing some research on international markets in the Metro area, I came across a 5-star comment on the Yelp page for Oriental Food Value: “Just a great quality no frills store with kind and happy customer service. A big store with small store appeal! … BONUS: A new food cart complex is under construction at the east side of building!” A little poking around yielded information on said food cart pod: Chop Chop Food Carts.
