Vivienne Culinary Bookstore Opens December 2

I was really happy to get the update on Vivienne’s opening as a culinary bookstore—the official date is Thursday, December 2. They’ll be open from noon to 6pm. But that’s not all!

On opening day there will be delicious treats like we’ve been used to from Vivienne—Robin will make tiny apple pies and a savory pie featuring mashed potatoes and chanterelle mushroom gravy. There will also be cookies, bone broth, baby cakes, bake at home goods, wine, and all the books. Speaking of books, you can buy them on the Vivienne website.

Look for their bar program and cookbook classes to come. There’s a lot to be excited about.

As I mentioned last week, there was a book launch event for Sandor Katz’s Fermentation Journeys last night (Monday) at Ferment Brewing Co. in Hood River. But he’ll also be at Vivienne on Saturday, December 4 from 3 to 5pm (and also at the PSU Farmers Market earlier that day). So glad to see Sandor make the rounds in the area for his new book.

I also wanted to mention that you can still contribute to Vivienne’s work as a culinary bookstore. As of this writing there’s a month and a half left during this fundraiser.

So head on over to Vivienne this Thursday to check out their revamped space, peruse the books, and have some taste treats. Should be a great time!
