It’s that time again—time to look at the most popular posts from the previous month. It’s all about the restaurants but interestingly enough, three of the posts are about pizza! I guess April really was pizza month. Thanks, as always, for reading.

5. Maeve, a Coffee and Wine Bar, Opens in Sellwood This Spring

A new coffee and wine bar called Maeve is coming to the Westmoreland section of Sellwood. It’s going to be run by two sisters, Amanda and Kendra Stark, who have experience in the world of counseling. Amanda’s husband, Richard Forrest Mavis (software developer and former owner of Gigantic Gallery in NW Portland), may also be involved. They hope to open in April.

4. Portland Pizza Week 2022 Is Coming

One of my favorite food weeks is almost here, Portland Pizza Week, brought to you buy the Portland Mercury. This year Pizza Week starts Monday, April 18 to Sunday, April 24. Slices are $3 this year, with pies for 20 bucks. 28 different places are participating!

3. Rabbit Hole Market and Sweets Will Open in Montavilla

While walking from my car to Hungry Heart Bakery Saturday morning, I passed the old Hungry Heart space on SE 80th Ave that had this sign affixed to the window: “Rabbit Hole Market and Sweets.” I didn’t think much of it since it said “Est. 2010” and that was 12 years ago. but my interest had piqued anyhow. I sort of forgot about it as I entered Hungry Heart and thought about what I was going to order.

2. Blind Onion Pizza Opening New Portland Location in 2022

While perusing city documents I came across an indication that Blind Onion Pizza & Pub, a popular pizzeria on NE Broadway near 33rd Avenue, is opening up a new Portland location—in the old Cheese Bar space on SE Belmont.

1. Reeva Wood-Fired Pizza Truck Opens in Roseway

I’ve been watching this for a while now and wanted to share the news—Reeva, a “family-owned and operated food truck that will offer a variety of delicious coffee, breakfasts, lunch specials, and wood-fired pizzas, all with a touch of love and Latin-American inspired recipes.” They are open at 77th & Sandy, in the Blossom Landscape & Design parking lot, which also used to be home to a great Subaru mechanic (I miss them).
