La Parilla Kitchen on NE 82nd Avenue Has Closed

Over on Nextdoor there have been some recent posts by people worried that La Parilla Kitchen, a local Mexican restaurant and neighborhood favorite, has closed. Well, I’m here to be the bearer of bad news: they have indeed officially closed this location.

They have had two locations—the one in Portland and one in Beaverton, which is still open, located at 9454 SW Allen Blvd. I called that location to get the details and the woman on the phone (presumably the owner), confirmed that the 82nd Avenue location has permanently closed. According to her, it closed about a month ago (so, in August 2022). She told me that she lives out in Beaverton now, so the change up makes sense.

Locals of this beloved Madison South neighborhood restaurant are pretty sad about the closure. La Parilla opened up in early 2018 and quickly became a favorite. People came by to enjoy their well-priced and delicious tacos, huevos rancheros, enchiladas, burritos, carne asada and choirizo, prepared by a family with origins in Puebla, Mexico.

I wish them well in their Beaverton restaurant, and hope something good will move into their now old space on 82nd Avenue. I’ll keep an eye on it.
