Thanks to a photo from Iain MacKenzie, aka @maccoinnich, I’ve learned that Nuvrei is opening a new location in downtown Portland’s west end. It’s that building on the corner of SW Harvey Milk and SW 12th Avenue. Among others, Bamboo Sushi The Annex was at this location for a time.
Personally, I’m a big fan of Nuvrei’s croissants, in particular. They are some of the best in Portland, (along with Jinju Patisserie) and I enjoy getting them at Extracto and St. Simon when I’m not over in NW Portland. I know they have quite a following for their macaroons, too.
In the Twitter thread, it is also mentioned that they will offer “made to order sandwiches.” I am certain their baked goods will be there, too. The expectation is that they will open in May 2023. I have emailed them to learn more and will pass on whatever I learn from them.
Exciting Portland lamination news, indeed.
