Thanks to Reddit, I was made aware of this video that in a very creative way announces the Portland Trailblazers 2024-25 schedule. I do not really follow basketball (I’m more of a baseball person, ngl), so I probably wouldn’t have paid much attention to this if is hadn’t been for its intersection with what this site is all about: Portland food and restaurants.
They split up the video into the six divisions in the Eastern and Western Conferences, and paired them with restaurants in Portland. Here’s what they picked, which I’ll describe to the best of my ability:
Pacific Division
Toya Ramen & Bar—A bowl of curry chicken ramen (“Golden State Curry”).
803 SE Stark Street, Portland; toyaramen.com
Northwest Division
Two Brothers—A mix of Combos 1, 2, and 3: Ćevapi with pita, ajvar and sour cream; Sudzuka, kebab, fries, and a Greek Salad. Slivovitz (plum brandy) to drink. IMO, this is one of the most underrated restaurants in Portland.
829 SE Cesar E Chavez Blvd, Portland; twobrotherspdx.com
Mikiko Mochi Donuts—Three donuts with basketball stripes (and the displayed sign mentions their Beaverton location).
3905 SW Orbit St #130, Beaverton; mikikodonuts.com
Southwest Division
Del Toro Steak Cart—Steak tacos with lemonade.
French Quarter food carts, 3530 SW Multnomah Blvd, Portland; deltorosteak.com
Poshine’s—Po’boy sandwiches and fries.
8139 N Denver Avenue, Portland; poshinespdx.com
Central Division
Angelina’s Greek Gyros—Gyro sandwich, meat off the spit, with fries in it (as it should be).
221 SW Ankeny Street, Portland; pdxgyros.com
Southeast Division
Pambiche—Cuban sandwich and a mojito.
2811 NE Glisan Street, Portland; pambiche.com
Akadi—Suya Wings
1001 SE Division Street, Portland; akadipdx.com
Atlantic Division
Paddy’s—Bangers and Mash (sausages and mashed potatoes) with gravy.
65 SW Yamhill Street, Portland; paddys.com
The Star—Thin-crust pizza with purple basketball lines on it. Small quibble: I would have chosen a true NY-centric pizza joint in town; I think of The Star as a place to eat Chicago-style deep dish pizza. YMMV, of course.
1309 NW Hoyt Street, Portland; thestarportland.com
At the end of the video is the season’s schedule with a tribute to Naomi Pomeroy. Very nice.
Here’s the video. Really nice job by the Trailblazers folks who put this together.

Glad to see Two Brothers featured. They have the best cevapi in Portland.
TBH, it’s the only place I’ve run into that offers cevapi. What other restaurants in town off Balkan food that you like?
Literally just yesterday I drove by Two Brothers and mused to myself that I really need to check it out. So thanks for that comment – it just rocketed up to the top of my list. I have a Bosnian friend I’m going to send the menu to for her comments.
Glad to hear it! I hope you and your friend enjoy your meal there. I’d love to know how you guys like it!
The Star is California deep dish, which is different from Chicago style. But, Def not NYC, no.
I gotta say, I have not heard of “California deep dish” as a known pizza style. I know there are deep dish pizza restaurants in CA – Zachary’s in the East Bay comes to mind right away. It still identifies as Chicago-style, though as the “stuffed” variant of Chicago deep dish pies (I am a huge Zachary’s stan and have love them since the early 1990s). I’m super intrigued by this concept of a deep dish unique to California. I must learn more.
