Welcome to our review of top posts on Bridgetown Bites from July 2025. It was a mix of Salad Week and openings—a new menu, a bakery to come, and a restaurant that has since opened.

As far as traffic goes, Google did another one of their algorithm changes—this “core update” started on the last day of June and and took about 16 days to complete. It can cause volatility in traffic for some sites.

On that topic of Google, their AI Overview also complicates things for publishers, as many people simply read the overview results and move on. The problem with this is that it’s perfectly capable of giving you incorrect information; it did for me, multiple times over the past couple of weeks. I encourage you to click on the supporting links to the AI text for a truly accurate search result. It also supports sites, like Bridgetown Bites, with your traffic.

That all to say, traffic took a little bit of a dip this month. In July, around 32,000 unique visitors generated about 47,000 page views, a decrease of 6% and 11% respectively. A bummer, but that’s how it goes sometimes.

Regardless, many thanks to all of you for reading, sharing, commenting, and sending tips!

As I mentioned in late June, Chef Agir Restaurant and Bar, a new Kurdish/Turkish restaurant, would be opening in Portland. And that time has come—their soft opening was yesterday. They offer Kurdish/Turkish food and drink in the space on NE Fremont Street that most recently was home to En Vida.

In honor of their 25th anniversary, Mother’s Bistro has put together a New York deli menu, called Bubbie’s Deli Board, as well as a catering division.
