Well, Feast Portland has come and gone, and my time as a volunteer is over. From all I’ve read and watched—as well as from my own experience—it was a rousing success. Scenes from the four-day food and drink festival were plentiful on social media; it’s no surprise that people were having a great time.
Continue reading “A Volunteer’s Look Back At Feast Portland 2017”If I could give those of you attending Feast Portland’s Grand Tasting—or really any of the events that involve a lot of eating—one tip for enjoying the vast amounts of food that will be in front of you, I’d say chew your bites thoroughly. It will force you to slow down just a little bit, and your digestive tract will thank you.

We are about a week or so out from what many food lovers in the Portland area consider “the most wonderful time of the year”—the annual Feast Portland. This week I’ve heard a number of people compare Feast to Christmas, and local gastronomes are pretty giddy right now.

On Tuesday evening, I attended the Hello! My Name Is Tasty cookbook release/launch party, which took place at the Plaza Del Toro event space in SE Portland. This space is, of course, run by John Gorham, the chef/owner of the mini Portland food empire that includes Toro Bravo, Tasty n Sons, Tasty n Alder, Mediterranean Exploration Company (MEC), and Shalom Y’all.
He’s also one of the authors of Hello! My Name Is Tasty, the other author being Liz Crain.
