Sizzle Pie Expands to Old Hotlips Space

Looks like the Concordia neighborhood is going to get their very own Sizzle Pie pizzeria. After Hotlips Pizza closed their locations this past spring, a number of storefronts opened up—to Sizzle Pie’s benefit, in this case (Fusion Curry Pizza is to open in the former Hotlips location in the Hollywood District).

Full disclosure: personally, I am a moderate fan of Sizzle Pie’s pizza, and for me their vegan pies are the ones that really hit the spot. But I think the best Sizzle Pie pizza is in the form of the slices you get through the “pie hole” at the Hollywood Theater—and when Atomic Pizza was supplying slices at Hollywood, those were also better than the ones you’d get next door in their dedicated space. I am not sure what is up with that but I could conclude the following: the pie hole is some kind of magic.

But regardless of my personal pizza preferences, the bottom line is that pizza will continue in that spot in the building on the southeast corner of 33rd Avenue and KIllingsworth. They hope to have a full liquor license there; will be open 11am to 10pm; and have some outdoor seating if possible.

It’s nice that pizza will continue there, and those Sizzle Pie fans in the neighborhood have a lot to celebrate!
