Back in May, a Bridgetown Bites tipster emailed me with the news: “Jacqueline will be moving into the former La Moule/Bakers place at 25th and Clinton.” I wrote a little blurb at the time, and I’m happy to say that the tip has been further confirmed—first with a liquor license application from mid-August, and then with an article in The Oregonian this week (and the accompanying Instagram post).
Despite not being able to connect directly with Jacqueline (I had reached out a couple of times), I’m glad to see the details in The O—so get ready for a good ol’ fashioned reblog.
Here is bullet list of tidbits:
- They will renovate the space, including a new raw bar (oysters are big deal at Jacqueline).
- Also, look for changes in the tasting menu and a new seafood tower.
- Former Langbaan manager Jonathan Staehr will join the team.
- The building was purchased by Arrow Kruse (The Woodsman Tavern) and Peter Bro (Broder).
- They approached Jacqueline with the offer to move.
- The current space may become Fair Weather (“currently in hibernation”) v.2 (Brunch! Portlanders luv brunch.)
- The portrait of Steve Zissou will travel to the new location.
If I am able to connect with the folks at Jacqueline, I’ll definitely pass on any new information I learn. Jacqueline is a much beloved restaurant among Portlanders and have garnered many the accolade. Wishing them only the best as they transition to the new location.
