
It’s almost that time—Valentine’s Day 2025 is right around the corner. Lots of places are doing special dinners and meals, and we’ve gathered them together here for you. And don’t let V-Day just be for romantic couples! Loving yourself and your friends is just as valid on this day of love.
These listings all take place on Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14, unless otherwise indicated.
1919
On Valentine’s Day, 1919 is offering a special dessert menu along with their regular full menu. Specials include caramel pot du creme and chocolate decadence cake; they are also offering a bottle of sparkling rosé. Happy hour runs from 4pm to 6pm that day, too.

Andina
“We’re celebrating this year’s Valentine’s Day with a three-course dinner featuring our full winter menu, and an accompanying amuse to inaugurate the evening. Prix fixe per person is $105, with beverages charged separately.” They also have some “extra-special wines and treats” to add to your meal. Astera
Astera, from Chef Aaron Adams, is known for their excellent sustainable plant-based cuisine and interest in fermentation. This year they are offering a special Valentine’s Day menu for $150 per person, not including tip. “It will consist of seven courses of snacks and composed plates highlighting local and seasonal produce from our beloved Oregon.” Note that this dinner is sold out but you can get notified of any openings via Tock.

Ava Gene’s
For Valentine’s Day this year they are offering, “an unforgettable evening filled with delicious bites, great company, and a touch of romance.” The cost is $110 per person. Here’s what is planned for the menu:
- Antipasti: Crudo with Grapefruit Pesto
- Giardini: Celery with Date, Almond, & Parmigiano
- Primi: Carrot Agnolotti, Stracciatella & Oregon Truffle
- Secondi: Dry Aged Duck, Celeriac & Duck Jus
- Dolci: Mascarpone Semifreddo, Blood Orange & Pistachio

They are offering a three-course prix fixe meal, which includes vegan and gluten-free items throughout the meal. Pricing starts at $45/each for the dinner ($15 needed to reserve your spot and will be applied as a credit to your final bill). with $28 for a drink pairing (including NA) and $35 for a dozen roses delivered tableside if you book before February 10. Here’s the menu:
- First course: Choice of ceviche (v), cheese plate, or charcuterie
- Second course, all gluten-free: Choice of tamal colado (v) (salsa ranchera, beans, option to add edd) OR steak (patatas bravas con mojo verde, ensalada verde with roasted poblano vinaigrette) OR shrimp molcajete (rice & beans, avo-pico, tortillas)

They have put together a special menu for Valentine’s Day. The cost is $95 per person with an $40 optional wine pairing. Reserve via Tock. Here’s the menu:

Celebration Mercado
A market organized “by the people, for the people” is doing their first popup of 2025 in honor of love and Valentine’s. As they say, “love is meant to be celebrated!” Head over to find unique gifts for the one you love. “There will be a variety of goodies to choose from customizable items to even some healthy options. We’ll also have some sweets such as homemade delicious cookies. Plus, come get a tarot reading from one of the sweetest and good energy people, Chrysalis Awakening PDX—who also helped us find this beautiful venue!”
That venue is Rae Loft PDX. The market will pop up on Saturday, February 8 from 11am to 6pm.

Dear Sandy
Starting at 5pm on Valentine’s Day, head to Dear Sandy for their Sweetheart Sundaes ($15 each). There are three:
- Coupe Glacée aux Poires: Brandy and rum poached pear, caramel ice cream, whipped cream, and candied Hhazelnuts
- Bananas Foster Sundae: Caramelized bananas, vanilla bean ice cream, whipped cream, candied pecans
- Gelato al Tiramisù: Amaretto soaked vanilla sponge cake, espresso ice cream, Marscapone whipped cream, shaved chocolate
In addition, chocolate covered strawberries are $2 each. Gluten-free, nut-free, and vegan options available.

Flying Fish Company
On Valentine’s Day they are offering a four-course dinner in their “toasty warm, newly renovated beer garden.” It is $150 per couple. There are two seatings at 5:45pm and 7:45pm, 8 tables per seating. Reserve via Tock.

- First Course (shared): 1 Dozen Oysters (a mix of Pacific Northwest varieties)
- Second Course (each guest will choose their own salad): Petite Roasted Beet Salad (fresh greens, citrus, goat cheese, pistachios, and a white balsamic honey vinaigrette) OR Petite Butter Lettuce Salad (butter lettuce with radishes, tarragon, chervil, and blue cheese)

Fried Egg I’m In Love
At their N Mississippi location, Fried Egg I’m In Love is running their “My Blood Orange Valentine” cocktail special. It’s made with coconut milk, strawberry, blood orange juice, chamomile syrup, rosewater, and lime. You can get it NA for $9 or add tequila for a $12 drink. Available Friday, February 14 to Sunday, February 16.

Gabbiano’s
On Valentine’s Day, Gabbiano’s is welcoming walk-ins of groups of eight guests or less to enjoy some lovely specials along with their regular menu. Specials include lobster ravioli, “Sexy Sicilian Bubbles,” and The Valentino cocktail (gin, Luxardo bitter bianco, blanco vermouth, lychee, lemon). First seating is at 4pm, last one at 9:30pm.

I recently had a terrific meal at Gumba and encourage you to consider them for your Valentine’s Day celebration. You can reserve anywhere from 1 to 12 seats and they will need at $25 deposit per person. Reserve via Tock.

For Valentine’s Day Weekend—Thursday, February 13 to Sunday, February 16—Jake’s is offering a four-course prix fixe menu. The cost is $130 for two people. Reserve via OpenTable (I find their reservation system on their website has a habit of not working). Here’s what to expect on the menu:

For Valentine’s Day they are offering a Czechoslovakia-inspired four-course prix fixe dinner for $75 per person. Wine pairings available at $35 or $55 each. Reservations are highly recommended by calling 503-232-3555.

L’Orange
They are offering a special tasting menu for $250 per person. It includes six courses (plus bonus items) with wine or NA pairings included—be sure to indicate which one you want when you book. Note: a 20% gratuity default is in place. They have also removed a few tables and chairs to make this a more intimate dining experience. Pambiche
Valentine’s Day just happens to be Cuban restaurant Pambiche’s anniversary and they are celebrating 25 years in business this year. In honor of that, guests can enjoy free birthday cake with their lunch and dinner meals throughout Valentine’s Day weekend. Cake options include Tres Leches and Alfajores, and Café con Tres Leches (a spin on the Tres Leches and the Café Con Leche coffee drink, reminiscent of Tiramisu).
They are also running a more expansive anniversary special that weekend, too. The Cuban dish Chilindrón de Carnero, served with black beans, white rice and ripe plantains. A glass of Pambiche’s Sangria comes with it, as well as Arroz con Leche de Coco for dessert. This special is $25 in honor of the 25th anniversary at Pambiche.

Pix Patisserie
Pix is back, partnering with Can Font (they took up residency in our restaurant in 2023) for a prix fixe dine-in dessert and drink menu for two, plus the option to add some savory snacks, too. It’s $65 for two (not each) on both Thursday, February 13 and Friday, February 14. Two seatings: 7pm and 8:30pm each day. Reserve on their website. Here’s the menu:
- Two individual desserts from a selection of six (Chocolate Truffle Heart, St. Honoré, Jubilee, Opera, Tiki Tiki, or Incognito)

A few more suggestions from the Pix folks: “Start off with one of our featured beverages, such as a Pink Martini or Heidsieck French 75, both created with Can Bar’s house gin, Gin Through the Sages. If you are not quite ready for dessert, add on a savory snack such as a petit selection of cheeses or Can Bar conservas board. And then, enjoy one of six signature desserts.”
