It was a very interesting group of articles that Bridgetown Bites readers enjoyed the most in March 2025. A holiday roundup, news of restaurant openings, and the first look at the Flock Food Hall from this past January all caught your collective eyes.
However, Google launched a core update in mid-March, and Bridgetown Bites unfortunately was affected (I can see the downward line on a graph of engagement in my analytics). I looked back at March 2024’s top 5 review and interestingly enough, the site got hit then, too. So, fool me twice, shame on me—I’ll be making yet another set of adjustments.
As for the numbers, In March, a little over 32,000 unique visitors generated close to 44,000 page views. That’s a decrease of 16% and 15.7% respectively compared to February. Real talk: It’s uncomfortable to make these statements, but I value transparency here with you on these stats, so I share the numbers, warts and all.
As always, thanks so much for reading, sharing, commenting what we publish here on Bridgetown Bites. And a special thank you to our tipsters, as well!
5. St. Patrick’s Day 2025 in Portland

Looking for something fun to do for St. Patrick’s Day or the weekend just before? We’ve got a bunch of things to share—celebratory food and drinks, dancing, parades, and more.
4. Taste of Sichuan Will Re-Open in Beaverton

After many months of being closed due to a fire, beloved Beaverton Chinese restaurant Taste of Sichuan will finally re-open this year. It has been a painstaking process to get to the point where they can open their doors, but when they do, it’s going to be a cause for celebration.
3. Paqui Modern Mexican Will Open on NE Sandy Blvd in Portland

A new Mexican restaurant called Paqui Modern Mexican will open in the old Arrowood location. It’s still a mystery as to why they closed, but the bottom line is that this storefront is going to have a new tenant in its good-sized property, which extends all the way to the corner of NE Sandy and 59th.
2. McDonald’s To Open in Old Green Zebra Space on N Lombard in Portland

A while back, a reader asked me if I knew what was going in at the old Green Zebra on N Lombard Street. After some research, I’ve come to understand that it looks like it’s going to become a McDonald’s—fast food. Maybe not the most exciting news possible, but it’s satisfying to know the future of that space.
1. First Look: Flock Food Hall in Portland (Photos)

Earlier today I was able to attend a media preview of the Flock Food Hall, located on the ground floor of the Ritz-Carlton hotel at SW Alder and 9th Avenue. There are eight vendors there offering a variety of cuisines, from Korean fried chicken, to birrieria, to pastries. Plenty of seating, too. Many thanks to Genesis Burton of the Qué Chilero Group, who invited me in connection to her client Pan Roast.
