Welcome to February 2026’s review of top 5 posts for the month. In February, it was a mix of openings—a Korean American restaurant, a bakery opening on NE 82nd Avenue, and a much anticipated food cart pod and taproom—and roundups of dumplings and Valentine’s Day events, which were legion (we could not keep up).
As far as traffic goes, we did have a dip compared to last month, but February is also a shorter month by three days. In February, close to 49,000 unique visitors generated 67,500 page views. That was down from 55,000 and 75,000, respectively. And for an interesting reference point, February 2025 had 38,500 unique visitors generating close to 52,000 page views.
Additionally in February, we changed email/newsletter providers from Mailchimp to Buttondown, which caused a few hiccups. We adjusted things over the month and I think it’s working well now. I appreciate your patience with this.
All in all, I don’t consider our scenario a negative, and see the positives. As always, thanks for reading, commenting, sharing—and for your tips!
5. BBANG! Will Open Next to the Holy Ghost in Portland

Late last year, Chinese restaurant 28 Tigers said farewell to their space next to the Holy Ghost Bar on Southeast 28th Avenue. Around that time (in November), I quoted the 28 Tigers folks with, “A new exciting project will be taking over our space while we find some rest before the next project manifests.” Well, that exciting project is BBANG!, a new Korean restaurant offering sandwiches, burgers, Korean fried chicken and tofu, and tasty sides—and a love of the bread the binds them.
4. Valentine’s Day 2026 in Portland

Valentine’s Day 2026 falls on a Saturday, which means both daytime and evening celebrating and canoodling are fair game. Here is where you can enjoy your time together on V-Day—day or night—in a tasty way. Plus, some options are not dependent on being a couple. As Martha Stewart would say, “It’s a good thing.”
3. Nana’s Exquisite Confections Opens Today in Portland

I recently learned from a Bridgetown Bites tipster that Nana’s Exquisite Confections opens today on NE 82nd Avenue in the Roseway neighborhood. Operated by local baker Florence Jenkins, she has operated Nana’s at markets and through mail-order for a number of years. Now, she starts this part of her journey in a brick and mortar space.
2. Dumpling Week 2026 in Portland

It’s back! Dumpling Week 2026 arrives this Sunday, February 15. After Salad Week (natch), Dumpling Week is my favorite food week in Portland (we keep a list of the others over in our Portland Food and Drink Festivals page). This year, over 40 restaurants are participating in Dumpling Week.
1. 1847 Food Park Is Open in Milwaukie (Photos)

After months of preparation, the 1847 Food Park has opened in downtown Milwaukie. Located on the former site of the Peake Funeral Chapel, it sits adjacent to City Hall, not far from Pfriem‘s Milwaukie Tasting Room and the Milwaukie Farmers Market. I was at a media/industry event there last night and got a chance to take a look at it—here’s what I saw.
