Good Times at SheBrew 2018 in Portland

Love this poster for the SheBrew Brew Festival.

This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending the fourth annual SheBrew, a beer, cider, and mead festival that features female-identifying brewers. One aspect of the event was to support the work of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) through the $20 admission cost. Originally it was a purely ticketed event, but ticket sales were not terribly robust so they’ve turned the admission price into something donation-based. My pizza heart belongs to Pizzeria Otto but we have an open relationship.

Probably the kind of food I’ve eaten the most in Portland is pizza. Blame it on my time in NYC where pizza is like a religion, or the fact that pizza is simply delicious. So when I heard about Pizza On Earth, I thought, “what a great way to eat pizza and do some good at the same time!”

Oregon Wild Community Cider Is Here, Portland!

Portland Cider Oregon Wild

Back in August we posted an article about the PDX apple recycling project, where backyard apples all around the Portland area are gathered together to make cider. Well, the apples were collected, the cider pressed and left to ferment, and now Portland Cider Company’s Oregon Wild Cider is here! This is the second year it’s been released.
