Now that we’re in the middle of the season of giving, I wanted to point you to one ask that is particularly relevant to those of us who like live music and eating delicious food. This is a collaboration between SOLO / Portland Piano International and three of Portland’s great chefs: Greg Higgins (Higgins Restaurant and Bar), Vitaly Paley (Headwaters), and David Machado (Nel Centro). It involves supporting the arts and a chance to have an amazing meal.
Continue reading “Support SOLO / Portland Piano International and You Could Eat Well”Over the past several days, I’ve noticed some activity in the space that used to be home to Pono Soul Farm Kitchen (4118 Sandy Blvd). As you can see, the windows are papered over (that usually means something new is coming); myriad people have been coming and going; also, there was a little box on the side of the building parallel to Sandy Blvd (it used to hold Pono Soul Farm Kitchen’s menu for the day) that contained an ad for the space, and that ad is also gone.
While walking in the neighborhood, I spied this poster up at the Hollywood Sizzle Pie.
Yes, the Santa Slice is making a return. From what I could tell from online media, they did this in 2015 and it caused a lot of buzz. As you can see in the photo, the Santa Slice is an 18-inch slice—basically the size of a whole pizza.
