Pho Le Nguyen Is Open in Parkrose

Earlier this month I mentioned that a new Vietnamese restaurant, Pho Le Nguyen, was opening in the old Catalina’s space on NE Sandy Blvd. Turns out they opened last week on February 14 and are running a special until this Friday, February 24.

I have to say, on a snowy day like today (when I am writing this piece), a hot bowl of pho sounds really good right now. They offer about 10 different kinds, from the classic Pho dac biet featuring beef, tendon, tripe and meatball; to versions with shrimp, chicken, and a vegetarian offering. You’ll also find items like salad rolls, egg rolls, bun, banh xeo (crepes), crispy chicken wings with fish sauce, short ribs, and a variety of drinks, including boba tea.

The special they are running is 20% off all orders. So, head on over soon to take advantage of this, because, as I mentioned above, the offer expires on Friday, February 24.

I spoke with a neighbor in Parkrose and she told me, “My husband and I went there last night and enjoyed a couple lovely bowls of pho and salad rolls. Looking forward to trying more of the menu!”

It’s great to see unoccupied commercial spaces gain new, solid tenants, and this stretch of Parkrose is seeing a lot of positive changes in this respect. I was at O’Dear the other day, and really enjoyed my meal; friends continue to recommend El Sombrero; the Parkrose Marketplace has developed into a real destination during the summers; and just up the street Fork & Spoon restaurant (with the Chik & Chuck Coffee house) continues to put out delicious Filipino food. Glad to see Pho Le Nguyen join this crew of diverse, delicious eateries!
