Well, it’s time to look at the top posts from May 2025 on Bridgetown Bites. Last month readers especially liked a couple of roundups and news about few openings in town.
Some updates: 3 Doors Down did indeed open this past week, as per a report from a diner who enjoyed their meal there, though their hours are little unpredictable at the writing of this article. I ate at Paqui Modern Mexican the other day and loved it, especially the ceviche and the garlic green beans. Capes and Crepes soft opened Wednesday, June 4, too.
And you know I like to share details on traffic to the site—the good news is that numbers went up again in May. Close to 34,000 unique visitors generated close to 48,000 page views. That’s a 4.25% increase and 7% increase from April 2025, respectively.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by, read, shared, and commented on the articles here. Our tipsters who pass on tidbits that I can share with you continue to be an important part of Bridgetown Bites, too.
5. Memorial Day Weekend 2025 in Portland and the Willamette Valley

Welcome to the unofficial start to summer—Memorial Day Weekend 2025—in Portland and the Willamette Valley. There’s a good chance we’ll get summery weather and some of you will have a day off. It’s also a chance to remember those who have served our country and are no longer with us. The Friends of Lone Fir will be at Lone Fir Cemetery from 10am to 3pm (here are some additional observations nearby).
4. Mother’s Day 2025 in Portland

Mother’s Day 2025 is almost upon us! From brunch to take-home meal kits to locally-made syrups, here are a variety of food-focused activities for the day this year. And a great way to celebrate mom this year.
3. Paqui Modern Mexican Will Open on NE Sandy Blvd in Portland

A new Mexican restaurant called Paqui Modern Mexican will open in the old Arrowood location. It’s still a mystery as to why they closed, but the bottom line is that this storefront is going to have a new tenant in its good-sized property, which extends all the way to the corner of NE Sandy and 59th.
2. 3 Doors Down Will Re-Open in Portland

Good news: 3 Doors Down is returning! And along with the re-opening is the original owner, Dave Marth. He is looking at reviving the restaurant in June in their longtime location just north of—and three doors down off of—SE Hawthorne Blvd.
1. Capes and Crepes Board Game Cafe Will Open in Portland

Capes and Crepes, a new board game cafe, will open in the old Green Zebra space on SE Division. Karim Soliman and Chelsea Hughes are the people behind the project and I was able to chat with them recently about what’s to come at Capes and Crepes.
