After a few months of preparation, Vincenzo’s Pizza is now open in the Rose City Park neighborhood. Their opening was last week, and already they have gained plenty of fans in the area already. They have a pretty nice menu featuring both Sicilian pies and round NY-style pizza pies, appetizers, salads, and pastas.
You can check out their menus here, or below (click to enlarge).

A few things on the menu caught my eye:
- Tavulidda. My understanding is that this is a Sicilian edible feast that happens in December, celebrating Mary; it also means “little table.” This is a plate of all sorts of delicious things—meats, cheese, and vegetables in various forms.
- Modena salad. Made with slowly braised chicken and a cooked sauce, it features Balsamic vinegar, a product of Modena, Italy.
- Stromboli. Meats rolled up with dough with a side of marinara reminds me of the various “rolls” I’d get at any Queens pizzeria. Delicious.
- Sicilian pizza. Detroit-style pizza is pretty popular in Portland when it comes to square pies, but I see Sicilian pizza proper less often. They all look good on the menu but the “spicy Sicilian” is probably my favorite variation, which Prince Street Pizza made famous in NYC. The Sfincione is also a classic (love those breadcrumbs).
You can also order slices at the counter—cheese (aka plain slice), pepperoni, a vegan option, and a rotating selection. I suspect this is just for round pies for now, though a Sicilian slice would be sweet. I hope sometime they offer a Grandma slice (kind of a thinner Sicilian) on special, which is one of my favorite styles.
Anyway, when it comes to the pizzas, you can order extra cheese, extra sauce, and Ranch on the side. They also have beer, wine, and NA beverages. Walk up to the counter and order, similarly to the setup with their predecessor, Hogan’s Goat.
Find them on NE Sacramento Street near NE Sandy Blvd Thursday through Monday, 3pm to 9pm (closed Mondays and Tuesdays). I’m looking forward to stopping by very soon!
