Mother’s Day 2026 in Portland: Brunch, High Tea, and More

Mother's Day 2026: celebrate with your kiddos!

While Mother’s Day, which falls on Sunday, May 10, may technically be a Hallmark holiday, it’s still one of my favorite ways to spend time with my family in Portland. The city’s restaurants and local businesses make it easy to mark the occasion, whether you’re going all out or keeping things low-key. No matter how the mom or caregiver in your life likes to be celebrated, Portland always keeps it real, and there’s something for everyone. Here’s a list of specific recommendations of where to celebrate Mother’s Day 2026 in Portland.

Amaterra Winery

Amaterra is once again hosting its annual Mother’s Day brunch on Sunday, May 10, with a full focus on the buffet experience. Expect classic breakfast favorites with a distinctive Amaterra twist, in a setting that’s elegant and family-friendly. Pricing is $79 for adults and $39 for children under 12.

An extra bonus if you’re headed out of town, Amaterra’s Bend location called Amaterra Kitchen & Social Club will also offer a special Mother’s Day brunch. This one will have à la carte items rather than a buffet. Reservations for both locations are available now. Portland reservations. Bend reservations.

Bullard Tavern

Bullard has an excellent brunch menu with lots of variety. I spent Mother’s Day here last year with my family and had a great experience (see picture above). One of the things I love most about Bullard is that they opt out of pricey prix-fixe menus and serve their regular brunch menu on Mother’s Day. My personal favorites are the jalapeño cheddar hush puppies to start and the eggs Benedict, featuring smoked brown sugar maple pork belly for a main dish. I also loved the quick attentive service, which is especially important when dining out with a larger group or your family.

Cafe Olli

Cafe Olli is offering something special for Mother’s Day 2026 with a High Tea service in their event space. Tea will be provided by local purveyor True Tea, paired with an assortment of savory finger sandwiches and a selection of sweet treats such as housemade scones, biscuits, and other delights.

There will be two seatings at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Reservations are required and you can email events@cafeolli.com to secure your spot.

Cascada

One of my favorite ways to unwind in Portland is by spending a day at the Cascada Thermal Springs. This is always a great choice, especially if a relaxing Mother’s Day is your kind of celebration (hint to the spouse who may be reading this).

Alongside Cascada’s indoor and outdoor soaking pools and saunas, there’s now an added bonus: Forbidden Fruit, a new on-site restaurant available to hotel guests, spa visitors, and members. The menu leans into vibrant, earthy dishes designed to leave you feeling refreshed rather than weighed down. Think fresh, satisfying foods such as avocado toast, Turkish eggs, and colorful grain bowls that will leave you energized and satiated.

Champagne Poetry

Champagne Poetry on NW 23rd is one of my beloved brunch spots, not just for the sweet but their savory brunch menu items, as well! It’s the kind of place where moms who appreciate beautiful presentation, a fun ambiance, and tasty food will feel truly celebrated. And yes, it’s delightfully pink with plenty of Instagrammable spaces.

Menu highlights include their signature soufflé pancakes (they take about 30 minutes, but are worth the wait) and the General Tso’s chicken, which is awesome! Their delicious Hokkaido rice also deserves a mention, as it’s slightly sweet and delightfully sticky.

Cho Winery

Cho Wines is a family-friendly winery just a short drive from Portland, nestled in the Chehalem Mountains AVA. Run by spouses, Lois and Dave Cho, the space boasts a thoughtful design and a clean, modern aesthetic across the tasting room and the winery grounds.

For Mother’s Day 2026, Cho is hosting a special caviar and bubbles experience where you can get mom a sparkling flight paired with decadent caviar. Pro tip: if you’re bringing little ones, don’t hesitate to ask about snacks and juice boxes. The staff is always wonderfully accommodating!

Doe Donuts

This delicious vegan doughnut shop in the Hollywood District is featuring a special doughnut flavor in honor of Mother’s Day 2026 weekend. Available Saturday and Sunday, May 9 and 10, the strawberry elderflower special features an elderflower glazed doughnut filled with strawberry curd, then topped with whipped cream, strawberry powder, fresh strawberries, and a touch of 24K gold leaf. The flavors are local, decadent, and true to Doe’s playful style.

Pamana

Pamana, the Filipino American eatery from Geri and Ethan Leung, has been holding a residency at The Hoxton Portland since September and it’s been a standout. Their daily brunch from 9am to 2pm is especially popular, with signature dishes like the stunning ube pancakes, topped with a rich violet sauce, and inspired by their family’s bibingka recipe.

That sense of care and heritage is exactly why Pamana is a great pick for Mother’s Day. Whether you’re coming in for brunch or their newly launched dinner service, each dish is rooted in family recipes including ones from both their moms.

Pete’s Mountain Winery

As a mom of young kids, I always find myself returning to Pete’s Mountain Winery on Mother’s Day. It’s the kind of place where you can truly relax and unwind with a nice glass of wine in a beautiful setting. The sweeping views of Mount Hood from their patio are hard to beat!

The Sisters Rosé is a personal favorite, though you really can’t go wrong with anything on their wine list. For Mother’s Day 2026, they’ll have live music featuring, Steve Hale and the Hearth & Soul pizza truck if you get hungry. They’re also super welcoming to families, making it an easy, enjoyable outing with young kids. Plus they add a few a thoughtful touches for moms, who are greeted warmly and receive a flower to take home. Reservations are recommended.

Terra Mae

Terra Mae, the Portuguese-Japanese fusion spot inside the Cascada Hotel, is a big treat for Mother’s Day. I celebrated my last birthday here with friends and family, and it made for a memorable evening, especially thanks to their thoughtful service and ability to easily accommodate larger groups.

The menu is creative and built for sharing, with standout dishes like the milk bread buns (also a hit with kids), tonkatsu, linguiça dumplings, and duck duck rice. Their cocktail and wine list is equally impressive, with a few well-crafted zero-proof cocktails to boot! Definitely one to book ahead, reservations are highly recommended.
