Five Guys Opening on NE Broadway in Lloyd District

A tipster alerted me to a sign posted about a new tenant coming to the 1200 NE Broadway building (aka Lloyd’s Station), with the name “Burgers & Fries.” Another sign posted indicated the space is leased to “NW Burgers & Fries,” which is Five Guys. Looking at the list of locations on their website, this seems to be the first location in Portland proper (there are locations established in the surrounding suburbs).

First Tastes: Pumpkin Spiced Bread at Tabor Tavern

A truly excellent dessert at Tabor Tavern.

On New Year’s Eve, my household has established a tradition of eating at Tabor Tavern, a gastropub on E Burnside in the North Tabor neighborhood. It’s an extension of our previous tradition of eating at one of our favorite gastropubs in Queens, Sweet Afton. The area where NE 30th Ave intersects with NE Killingsworth has been home to many delicious places over the years. And a new Italian-American restaurant and bar, Gabbiano’s, will be joining the area, likely in January 2022. It will become the southern neighbor to Ripe Cooperative and will offer good food in a fun atmosphere. “Gabbiano” means “seagull” in Italian.
